Dr. Andrew Lowe

Consultant GI Radiologist at Musgrove Park Hospital in the South West of England. Former member of the RCR Scientific Program committee( 2011-2016), he has organised numerous sessions and study days for the RCR over the years.  President of the British Society of Gastrointestinal and abdominal Radiology (BSGAR ; 2017-2019) which is the largest GI sub-specialist group in the UK.

Subsequently, he was appointed as the first Royal College of Radiologists Global Travelling professor between 2019 and 2023 organising Educational programs in Myanmar and subsequently Vietnam.

He has a particular interest in CT Colonography and was a co-author of the original CTC international Standards document and has more recently contributed to the combined RCR/BSGAR international CTC standards documents & RCR publication: ‘CT colonography and lower GI cancer pathways: planning for the next decade’.

He was the Radiology Lead and member of the Trial Management Committee for the CREST II  ( colorectal stent) Trial (2015-2023).

He was one of the  co-founders and faculty of the CT ‘Northern School’ in the UK which has trained hundreds of consultants and Radiographers in the practise of CT Colonography in the UK and overseas, as well as teaching on CTC courses overseas. 

More recently, he was one of the international faculty and MRI workshop lead at the first RCR Global conference in Dubai 2022, and GI Module lead at the RCR Global conference in Dubai 2024 and faculty member of the first RCR Advanced MRI course in Jeddah in May 2024.
