Oncological emergencies are life-threatening complications that might occur during cancer and/or might accompany therapeutic modalities of the malignant diseases. If these complications are diagnosed and treated immediately, which will consequently reduce percentages of cancer morbidity and mortality.
The duration and degree of toxicity depends on the chemotherapy type and dose; it also varies with the site of disease, the presence and extent of bone marrow involvement or any previous bone irradiation. Therefore, this course addresses various structural and metabolic oncologic emergencies that allows participants to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding about the most common oncological emergencies that require quick and decisive action to ensure better outcomes of cancer treatment.
