3501709 Economics of Cancer Care Informatics

This course discusses the conceptual development of the economics of cancer care informatics.  It also addresses  the economics of developing cancer care informatics solutions both in plan and agile driven approaches with emphasis on algorithmic software cost estimation.. It also introduces and reflects on the cost-effectiveness of example cancer care processes with reference to all involved stakeholders including the served and serving systems. By the end of this course students will develop knowledge of economics of precision medicine for cancer patients; cost-effective modelling and analysis using decision trees, Markov models, etc. It concludes by addressing the role of health technology assessment guidance for the provision of adequate consideration to decisions of cost-effectiveness alternatives.
